Three months ago I would have told you nothing works. The head shaking is what finally got me. You know the sound, that thump against the wall at two in the morning. His ears stayed red and no amount of cleaner fixed it for more than a day. The vet explained that ears flare up when the immune system is already stretched, so treating the ear on its own was pointless. This is the first thing that went at the actual cause. Six weeks on, the flapping has stopped and so has the smell.
